Happy Full Moon Aries/Christian Easter

Friday marks the first full moon of the zodiacal year. This is the full moon Aries, as it is known. Because of the timing this year, I’m going to take a moment and explain Catholicism. You see, the Christian holy day of Easter occurs on the first Sunday after the full moon in Aries. This tells us that at least this holy day is astrologically timed. Hence, this coming Sunday is astrologically timed, so a happy Easter to all!

In esoteric astrology, the first three full moons of the new astrological year have a phenomenal impact for the upcoming solar year. The first, which is this full moon, is that of Easter; the resurrection. Let’s take a moment to think about that. As one year dies, another year begins. Hence, the essence of this full moon is that of resurrection, but also of new beginnings. After all, this IS the first full moon of the zodiacal year. So when it comes to projects to do, and foci to create for the upcoming year, it is wise to focus on the goals, putting energy in their direction. New projects are best initiated now, as well as beginning new trends or behaviors. 

To take things a step further down the esoteric rabbit hole, let’s look at the ray that is associated with it. In metaphysics, there are seven rays of color that have divine properties, so that by tapping into that color, you can tap into that energy. Each one of these rays have an ascended master that is associated with it. An ascended master is someone that is a little further along the path than us, but is choosing to work with humanity as a whole for their own evolution, rather than taking ascension. Each ray has one of these beings that are associated with it, embodying the essence of the ray in human form. The ray that can be tapped into during this full moon is the first ray, which is the ray of willpower. There are other correspondences, of course, such as astrological ones, and in this case, the planet Mars is associated with it. The ascended master is the master El Morya. Thus, he can be of assistance if one chooses to work with this ray. This is the ray of willpower, as stated above. It is also ruled by Mars, and hence its overall energetic is aggressive.

Aggression, focus, willpower, determination, stamina, endurance, competition, perseverance, and burning away the dross are all key ideas of this ray. It is wise to work with this ray in cases of wanting to develop and/or enhance these traits within one’s self. The burning away the dross requires a little more explanation, but I believe the rest speak for themselves. This is a ray of action.

The idea of burning away the dross comes to us through the western esoteric tradition of alchemy. It’s basic tenet is that fire burns away that which is not pure, and not helpful. Thus it strips out impurities. In spiritual alchemy, this is a stage that one goes through in order to purify the solar self. Hence, this ray can be used for purification as well as the above qualities.

So with all of this energy out there, what are you going to do with it? What steps will you take to harness and direct the ambient energy in the air? Most importantly, how much of that is focused on your spiritual goal?

Happy Full Moon Pisces!

Well, what a week we’ve had, eh? This may be a longer than average blog post, so make sure that you are seated, comfortable, and ready to process, because there’s a lot going on in our local solar system that is impacting life here on Earth, and there is a lot more that will be going on as well in the near future. Hold onto your hats, because here we go!

To begin with, how many people here have been noticing technological issues lately? Well, I can explain a lot of that, to ease the stress that may be going around. One of the reasons this has been going around is due to activity in our local solar system, so I share this insight with all of you to alleviate at least some of the stress. The first point to note is that there is the biggest solar storm in years that has been affecting us since last night, and will most likely linger over the next day or so. I don’t know about all of you, but I’ve been having cellular phone glitches left and right, and even some issues with social media sites. Yes, all of those are attributed to what is going on with the solar storm, so there’s factor number 1.

Factor number 2 is the full moon that was a few hours ago. During a full moon, the energies are increased and distorted; hence the tenseness in the air. I’ve talked to several people that told of vivid and active dreams last night, or other odd occurrences that happened. So you have the enhanced energy from the full moon, as well as the solar storms on top of it.

Factor number 3, and this is the one that is just now getting ready to form, is that there is a Mercury retrograde that begins next Monday, March 12. During a Mercury retrograde, one of the things that are affected is technology all across the boards, but in particular, communication oriented technology. Without going into a dissertation here about a retrograde cycle of a planet, long story short, Mercury affects technology, communications, and electricity, and when it goes retrograde, the strong potential is there for things to get messed up. In other words, glitches, challenges, and all things related to stress due to technology. Usually, Mercury goes retrograde about three times a year, and is usually retrograde for three weeks at a time, so this happens quite often.

While Mercury doesn’t go retrograde until next Monday, there is a period of time before it during which communications and technology can be affected in very challenging ways. This is lovingly known as the bubble before the effect, and has its roots in a metaphysical principle. What this period effectively does is add another week to the retrograde cycle, but it also acts as a warning to all that are aware that something may not be right in the cosmos. But, one of the things that can also happen on a Mercury retrograde is that communication and technology issues and situations that have been put off regarding dealing with them may come to the surface to address and resolve during a Mercury retrograde cycle. For example, a couple of years ago I kept blowing off getting my computer cleaned for viruses and issues, and when I put it off long enough, eventually it went down during a Mercury retrograde. So during the retrograde, I had no choice but to get it fixed, and of course it was more expensive than it would have been if I had been proactive. And of course the timing was horrible as well. Due to that influence, though, it is also unwise to sign contracts or serious paperwork if it can be helped. Often times, this manifests as the devil being in the details, and showing up later to bite one in the proverbial rear end.

So, in short, this is what has been going on for the last week to week and a half. And just so everyone knows, Mercury goes direct on April 4th.

The next point to address is a little more esoteric oriented. Beginning March 8, and lasting through about the 12th, there is an aspect pattern that will be coming together in the heaven’s known as an earth grand trine. Long story short, without going into too much astrological tekkie talk, this is going to be a wonderful time to bring things down into the physical plane, no matter what they are. For example, this would be the time to roll out a product; this is not the time to come up with the idea. Or it could be that there is a personal development project that has been waiting to be made manifest, and the only question mark was when. This would be the ‘when.’

So, as can be seen from the information about, March is going to be an active month, and this isn’t even addressing other things that are going on, astrologically speaking, such as the current Mars retrograde, Saturn retrograde, and Spring Equinox, when you can stand an egg on end! I share all of this with all of you so that you know that if things seem off, it could be that you are intuitively picking up on what is going on in our immediate solar system that is affecting us energetically.

Happy Full Moon Aquarius!

So we all know the stories, right? We all know that the Mayan calendar expires at December 21, 2012, winter solstice, right? Well, I’m not here to talk about that today, but I will discuss it closer to the date. I just want to make sure we’re on the same page. This is necessary because if this is not known, the ignorance of it would color the perspective of this blog. Tonight we have the Moon in Leo, and the Sun in Aquarius: opposite signs. The earth is bathed in that particular energy, infusing us. However, it is wise to keep things in proper perspective. Yes, this is occurring right now, but it happens approximately every 28.5 days. So what?

This alignment happens approximately every 28.5 days, so why does it feel like it does now? I don’t know about any of you, but things have been absolutely, positively, crazy! A couple of weeks ago there was a T-Square that caused all sorts of issues, not just for me, but for about 50% of the people I’ve talked to! The other half moved through life seemingly unaffected by its impact. And, most recently, last Friday, February 3, 2012, Neptune entered into his own sign, which I have noticed has sent ripples out affecting many people. The king has come home, so to speak. Both planet and sign are highly spiritually themed, and because of this, much spiritual progress can be made. However, as we all know, sometimes it takes a little stirring of ingredients before things get cooking, so there was the T-Square, and let’s not forget Mars going retrograde in Virgo January 23. And, to cap off the heraldry, Saturn is stationary retrograde today!

Gee, Bill, you make it sound so massive. Yes, yes I do. Why? Because this is the context that the full moon is placed into. This full moon is occurring as Neptune brings spiritual water into his own sign. This full moon is paving the way for an earth grand trine that is going to be occurring March 12, 2012, which is the same day that Mercury goes stationary retrograde. So there’s no real easing of the pressure when it comes to the skies for the near future. This is important to note because if you feel like everything in your life is put inside a snow shaker, and it is being shaken, then you are partially correct. The skies are promoting change, shaking things up, and a large part of it is only your fault if you’re any good at it. You see, currently the energy in the cosmos is that of change. ‘Change is the only constant’, etc, etc, etc, I hope all of you handle change well. I know I can. Knowing this, though, is no absolution if only a victim approach is taken, and karma and universal laws will still be balanced.

So what is the metaphysical side to all of this? That, my dear friends is the true fruit. You see, a metaphysical principle that is at work here is one that is based around change. There are two parts to it. The first part states that things that appear chaotic on one plane are viewed as being in order on a higher plane of consciousness. The next part is that before things can proceed to the next level in that area, they have to be broken down so that they are reassembled in a better method the next level up. All of this almost makes the full moon pale in comparison, doesn’t it? This is not the case, though, as the full and new moons coming up for the next few months are going to be what triggers, amplifies, and/or distorts these patterns, and how they affect us. Over the next few months, the lunar cycle is going to be more influential than during other times, triggering things to life in our natal and progressed charts. Thus, the first quarter of this year is predicated around motion and swiftness, which are attributes attributed to Mercury. And wasn’t one of the Hopi prophecies about living in the ‘time of no time?’ Hm.

Isn’t it nice how it all comes back full circle? It’s 2012, friends. It’s the big dance, and over the last month we’ve seen in our own lives what kind of dance it is, but if we change our consciousness to a higher plane, we change the tempo. I wish you all elegant waltzes instead of mosh pits, unless, of course, you’re into that. In that case, enjoy.

Happy Full Moon Capricorn

Hello!

This is a new year, and hence there will be a new focus for this blog. However, it will not deviate in a radical direction, but rather in a linear one. Well, as linear as it can be. To begin with, as a lot of you may have noticed, sleep has been something of an issue for so. I assure you that is astrological in nature for the most part. You see, the Moon’s own sign is Cancer, and hence as we move into the time when then Moon is in her sign, things become more energetic overall. Increased energy equals more energy if one is in tune.

So here we are at the fabled 2012. So many rumors, so many tangents. Let’s face facts: It is most likely, and probably not, the end of the world. However, it is most likely an ending to a particular style of consciousness overall, so hold onto your hats! It’s most likely going to be a wild year. And, as Bill Hicks said, it’s all just a ride. So I encourage everyone to enter into this year willing and able to embrace this new year of change. After all, if the world around us is any indication, it’s going to be an interesting year.

I, myself, am starting a new class series at Pathways that is a pantheon class series that will tune into the seasons, and I’ll be starting it this Tuesday. Besides that, I will also be offering a new one shot class entitled ‘Ritual Etiquette.’ There is a lot happening in my world, and this is only the beginning. I hope this is true for everyone; not just me, and I send everyone blessings of success. Oh, and for those of you that are wondering about the weather; it is also a by-product of the stars and the solar system. But that, my friends, is something to be looked up individually. My recommendation is to start  with the comet Lovejoy that contacted the Sun not too long ago. Yes, things are a little different now, but expect them to go back to normal over about the next 10 days.

Anyway, this year ahead promises to be a year of change, and in exciting and sometimes unpredictable, yet positive ways, if one is in tune with their spiritual self, so remember, ‘It’s all just a ride.’

Happy Full Moon Sagittarius/Eclipse!

Today is the full moon Sagittarius. And, as has been reported in the press, it is a dynamic one at that! An interesting prelude to this has been the fact that for the last few weeks, there have been a lot of articles in the news about different space related discoveries. This fact alone, out of context of the eclipse full moon, is enough to garner questions as to why all of this is being related now. I say this because there are those conspiracy theorists out there that spot patterns, and believe everything to be a massive coverup. There is one fact to keep in mind, though, and that is that NASA has a six month lock on all information that they receive. They roll out the information six months after it has been discovered. An easy way to understand it is that six month window can be seen as a sort of quality control period during which things are validated, etc. So what is now being released was actually discovered six months ago. And please keep in mind that the six month lock on information may or may not be accurate. I learned about it a few years ago, and we all know how fluid governmental policies are.

Now onto the rest of the blog!

Gemini is the sign of the twins. In esoteric astrology, the full moon that happens when the Sun is in Gemini is known as the festival of humanity, and is a time to celebrate humanity’s positive accomplishments. The sign of Sagittarius is known as being associated with spirituality, as opposed to religion, which falls under the sign of Cancer. Thus, during this full moon, it is a good time to take stock of your own humanity; particularly the achievements. Then, on the back end, it is wise to take a spiritual inventory of the same caliber.

One final point to keep in mind is that since this is an eclipse, you may find that some revelations may be distorted, so it is wise to be as objective as possible, seeing things from the outside. While this can be challenging until you get the hang of it, it can also be a very useful tool to use during this time, and a tool that assists with spiritual growth in a much more expedient manner.

So where have you come from this year? Where have you been? What is next? These are the kinds of questions to ask during this full moon. And as a special tangent, are you approaching things from a human perspective, or an animal instinct perspective? That is where the true growth can happen.

Happy Full Moon Scorpio!

Here we are on the cusp of November 11, 2011, which most people that are metaphysically focused have made special note of, due to the 11-11 correspondences. I’m not going to get into that side of things here, but suffice to say for now that this full moon is a little more intense than other full moons of the year. Those of you that read this blog on a regular schedule will notice that there is a lot going on, astrologically speaking, and it just keeps getting more and more intense. It is wise to keep in mind that all of this began in 2008, and will climax next year. Of course this will bleed over into 2013, but the bulk of it will be done by just about this time next year. I explain all of this here because a lot of people have asked me about the craziness and extreme polarities in behavior that many people are exhibiting, and I respond the same: its astrological in nature. This is true, and it is worth remembering because most of this pressure that is being felt is due to the aspect patterns that are frequently occurring at this moment in history.

But, there is a caveat to put on this statement, and that is that WE control our responses to said astrological pressure. We dictate how it manifests, and that’s the beginning and the end of it. Its called personal responsibility, and the only way to understand it is to use it.

Also of note today is that Neptune went direct. Neptune is associated with mysticism, metaphysics, the imagination, creativity, denial, escapism, and inspiration, among other things. It is also considered a higher vibration of Venus, so it is all things Venusian, only of a lesser physical manifestation. It is the muse to the goddess Venus.

So where I’m going with this is that, if all of this happened today, and is occurring right before 11-11, is it any wonder that things are more intense? Oh, and I forgot to mention that Mercury goes retrograde on Thanksgiving day! And all of this doesn’t even tie into the solar flare cycle, and the near miss asteroid!

This full moon axis is focused on how one handles resources. Scorpio (shared) and Taurus (personal) both address this How are you handling your resources? In what areas of life is there an opportunity to improve resource management? Why is it wise to pursue this? When people get pressured, the react extremely, and thus you have what is occurring right now. So wouldn’t it make sense to go inwards? I don’t know about you, but I tend to not engage in those that are negative or extremists, and there seem to be a lot of them out there.

Happy Full Moon Libra!

Today is the full moon in the cardinal air sign of Libra. While there is a lot that can be said about the sign, there are a few more things that are pertinent before addressing them. A lot of people, myself included, have wondered why it feels like Mercury is retrograde, when it is direct. The answer to this will lead us to the heart of the matter. A major influence that occurred last week is that a comet crashed into the Sun, and there was a solar flare discharge that occurred shortly thereafter. The traditional and common scientific community has said that there is no coincidence. However, as we all know, there are no such things as coincidences. You see, solar flares from the Sun affects life on earth more than most people realize, or give credit towards. Astronomy pays close attention to these solar flares, assessing cycles, and gathering information to process. Astrologically, paying attention to solar flares, and solar flare cycles, is a key ingredient in financial astrology, particularly regarding investing periods. These solar flares have also been a major cause of interfering with the electromagnetic fields of earth. So last week, the electromagnetic field of earth was disrupted by such a discharge. So gee, Bill, why is this important?

Its important because it leads us to understanding the comprehensiveness of a Libra full moon. Libra is associated with harmony. I’ve spoke on here and in my newsletter frequently about the fact that Libra is more accurately corresponded to harmony, rather than balance, so I won’t go into it here. In the science of space, it is wise to be as familiar as with astronomy as it is to be familiar with astrology. Understanding both can provide the serious celestial student with a more holistic picture. And don’t worry, astronomy is not as scary to learn as it may seem.

During this full moon, it is wise to integrate multiple sides of whatever situation may be of the most relevance in order to get a more global and comprehensive view; thus producing a more accurate and higher vibrational clarity. Hence, the mental plane and its clarity is developed, carrying the individual more out of the emotional body, into a greater space of personal empowerment and spiritual fulfillment.

Happy Full Moon Virgo!

Today is the day of the full moon, Virgo. It is also known as the harvest moon. This is worth noting because it really refers to a two-fold occurrence. Both are predicated around what we have already worked towards, and things that occur on the back end of things rather than the front end of things.

To begin with, the harvest moon is a wonderful time to take stock of our blessings. This is a time to be thankful for what we have in our lives. Some of the cynics that read this may think something to the effect of: “Yeah, I’ve got SO much to be thankful for!” So let me begin by saying that it would be wise to remain humble. Do you have a roof over your head? If you do, then you’re blessed. Do you have good health? If you do, then you are blessed. Do you have the type of love in your life that is in line with your will? Then you are blessed. Do you have a bank account that has at least one penny in it? Then you are blessed. I could go on and on with this topic, because in my personal opinion, not enough people are grounded in the real world to count the blessings that I mentioned above. IF one has a bank account with at least one penny in it, then they are among the richest 10% of the PLANET. After all, money is just a physical representation of energy. And, when you break it down to the brass tacks, at least here in America, money is just paper with dead men on it, nothing more, nothing less.  Counting blessings is a wise choice, and one that can provide stable grounding to build a life from. Its not necessary to keep up with the Jones’, particularly if their dysfunctional behind closed doors. And, for the tragic PC disclaimer, no offense meant to any Jones’ that may read this. One person’s victory is another person’s low point, and only by keeping a healthy sense of perspective on these blessings, can one truly embrace the joy that is life.

It should be obvious by now that this is one of my favorite full moons!

The other point that this moon brings to our awareness is that during this moon, and moving forward for the fourth quarter of the year, we will be harvesting what seeds we planted in spring. So, we are repeating the fruits of our labor. Here again, the cynic may have a negative spin, but this is the fact of the matter. How is this so? Quite simply, there is a rhythm and a cycle to life, and either we embrace it and ride it, or we close ourselves off to it, thus creating a bigger train wreck down the road. If one doesn’t like some of the fruits that they see in their life, then it is wise to analyze what seeds have created this, and how this can be better managed next year, when the cycle begins anew.

Happy Full Moon Leo

Wow, what an interesting lunar cycle its been! Let’s take a quick moment to look at the current scenario we have, astrologically speaking, and address some things that people have been asking me about over the last lunar month. Currently, here’s what’s happening: Mercury is retrograde, so if you’ve been having communication challenges, this is where it has been coming from. Let’s look at another facet of that, too, to shed some more light on things. Since Mercury went retrograde in one of its own signs, it is a little more powerful than other times. And the fact that it went retrograde in an earth sign means that things of a more physical nature have been affected. This can cover everything from computers to vehicles. So this is what I like to call phase 1.

Phase 2 is the fact that it has been a waxing moon for the last two weeks. This means that the energy has been increasing, and that is why things are a little more spiked than normal. So thus, it means extra energy thrown into the mix. Mercury went retrograde on a waxing moon phase, and thus its effects have been strong, too.

Phase 3 is the one that most people don’t know about, and this is the phase that is causing a HUGE amount of headaches, and has been since before Mercury went retrograde, yet it is the least known about. This is the fact that currently there is a huge T-square that has been hanging out for awhile. A T-square is an aspect pattern that is challenging in manifestation, and yet it identifies growth opportunities. So in other words, its challenging, but can be worked with. Its the planets involved that makes it a little more challenging than other aspect patterns. However, this is being caused by transiting planets, and thus already, the effects are beginning to diminish, even with this writing. This T-square is Mars (aggressive, energetic, masculine), squaring Pluto (its bigger brother, only more focused on transformation, albeit sometimes swift), and there’s a square between Mars and Saturn (lessons, karma, grounding). So you have this aspect pattern as the curtain backdrop, Mercury at center stage, and an aggressive Mercury with energy behind it at that! And of course things are emotionally and energetically charged at that, because of the Moon!

 

Remember everyone, this is all just a ride. And now that you know the astrological side of things, my prayer for all of us is that we are mindful of the planets, stars, and their effects on us, as we proceed through the next half of the Mercury retrograde, knowing that the T-square is already dissipating, and we’re on a waning moon, so the energy is decreased. Whew!

Today is the day of the Full Moon. To the purists in the audience, the Sun is in Cancer, and the Moon is in Capricorn, which is what makes it a full moon. When the full moon is listed, it is listed as belonging to the sun sign. This is a particularly powerful full moon, as there are many esoteric astrology connotations present. The first one has to do with the sign Cancer. In esoteric and spiritual astrology, the sign of Cancer is associated with the masses of humanity. These are the people that are spiritually asleep, and are, on some level, okay with it. It is a known fact that most people operate from the perspective of their emotional and personality selves. Cancer is associated with a strong intuition, but also strong emotions. This became apparent to me during the events of September 11, 2001, when the media announced that the only two stocks that went up on the stock market were Anheuser Busch and RJ Reynolds. So to put it plainly, beer and cigarettes. After the events of that tragic day, people drank alcohol and smoked cigarettes while they listened to the information coming to light.

The sign of Capricorn, on the other side, is its opposite sign. Capricorn is associated with responsibility, maturity, autonomy, going your own way even if this leads one away from the crowd. It is associated with being down to earth and practical, forward thinking and progressive in thought. Some perceive Capricorns as being too emotionally cold, while Cancer can be perceived as being too emotional.

This leads us to consider a spiritual situation not commonly talked about, and that is the difference between spiritual fantasy, and spiritual reality. Spiritual fantasy can be characterized as sitting around, praying for things to get better, while not taking any proactive steps to change what is happening in one’s life. Spiritual reality, on the other hand, is associated with proverbially getting hands dirty, and working on changing things that lead to dis-ease and dis-comfort. In other words, spiritual fantasy is wishful thinking, and spiritual reality takes courage, as sometimes it takes that courage to enact change in one’s life.

So to wrap this brief but, in my opinion, potent blog up, I leave you with a rhetorical question: Are you living in spiritual fantasy, waiting for things to happen? Or are you living in spiritual reality, MAKING things happen?

To quote Yoda: “Do, or do not. There is no try.”
